About Bennetts Winter Sports

Bennetts Winter Sports was established in 2012 by school friends Russell Bennett and Richard Mills, united by their shared passion for skiing.
 

Russell is the owner and Managing Director of Bennetts Motorcycles, while Richard, having studied law at university, chose to follow his passion for skiing and help others enjoy the sport he loved. He went on to work for two leading winter sports companies, where he gained extensive knowledge and experience across the industry.
 

Sadly, Richard passed away in 2021. We know he would have wanted the business he and Russ built together to continue, and we are proud to carry on that vision.
 

Today, Chris provides our professional boot fitting service. Chris and Richard first worked together in 2006, developing extensive experience in custom-made insoles and ski boot fitting. Their approach has always been to select the right boot for each individual, taking into account comfort, performance and any specific requirements or issues a customer may have.
 

Chris also holds a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, giving him an excellent understanding of the relationship between movement, performance and equipment. This experience allows him to provide knowledgeable, individual advice to help every customer find the right fit.
 

Russ continues to combine his passion for skiing with his business interests. Alongside managing Bennetts Motorcycles, he is a former Chairman of Lyons Ski Club at Xscape in Castleford and a qualified Ski Instructor.

Skiing is also very much a family passion. Russ's son, Elliott, started skiing at just three years old and has gone on to become a member of the British Ski Team, with Olympic ambitions. He is also a BASI Level 3 ISIA Ski Instructor.

At Bennetts Winter Sports, our aim is simple: to combine experience, expertise and a genuine passion for skiing to help our customers get the most from their time on the mountain.
